Deckers is in Douglas County, in the Denver-Aurora metro area. The community was
named for Steve Decker, storeowner
Deckers is small-town Colorado, consisting of a general store, a fly shop and a few
rooms for rent. Fish and fishing are big here...The South Platte River flowing below Cheesman Canyon through Deckers
is a world-class fishing area, featuring access points along a 20-mile stretch of river.

is 6,434 feet.
Stephen Decker built a general store here in the 1890s. He later added a saloon and called the settlement "Daffodil."
The presence of natural springs led him to establish Deckers Mineral Springs and Resort
Popular region for fly-fishing
Deckers received national attention for June 2002 forest fire, known as the Hayman Fire, which
burned thousands of acres on the outskirts of the Denver metro area
